Acclimatization:It is important to acclimatize to the altitude before starting the ascent. It is recommended to spend at least one day in Baños de Agua Santa (1820 meters above sea level / 5971 feet) before starting the hike.
Physical condition:The ascent to Quilotoa Crater is a demanding activity that requires good physical condition.
8:00 AM: Departure from the city of Baños in a private vehicle.
8:00 AM - 11:00 AM: During the three-hour drive to Laguna Quilotoa, we will make several stops to appreciate the charms of the region.

Tigua Gallery at the "Cóndor Huasi" Cultural Center: A space where traditional Tigua handicrafts, made with spondylus shells, are exhibited and sold.
Mirador del Encañonado Río Toachi: A panoramic point from which to admire the impressive view of the Toachi River Canyon.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: We continue the journey to Zumbahua, observing along the way the colorful rural landscapes: indigenous crops, flocks of sheep and llamas, typical adobe and straw houses, and the majestic presence of the Cotopaxi volcano.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Arrival at Laguna Quilotoa, located at 3800 meters above sea level (12,467 feet). Lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the lagoon.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Walk to the shore of Laguna Quilotoa, where you can take a kayak ride or simply enjoy the impressive scenery.
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Ascent to the edge of the lagoon. You can do it on foot or on horseback (additional cost of $10 USD).
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Walk back to the vehicle.
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Return to the city of Baños.
